The more the ring is opened and closed, the more strain is placed on the metal so I recommend not removing daily.
Sterling silver does react to the chemicals in pools, sometimes oxidising and turning darker but I have found this fades quickly after you get out of the pool. You can also polish with the provided polish cloth.
